Context, Finally

A couple weeks ago I posted a picture of a dog standing on a school desk, promising later context. This is that context. The picture is my dog Mary, who lived to be nineteen years old before she passed away last year. I had created a pretty long and heartfelt post about her, which WordPress then Consumed, probably because I put way too many pictures in it. Lesson learned; we never draft on the site itself.

.          I don’t think I can adequately recapture the flow of that post, so I’ll summarize: Mary was my best friend for nineteen years, and I feel like she deserved a place on the blog before I started talking about my new dog here.

Practically Identical.

.

His name is Luigi, after the cooler Mario Brother. This kinda unflattering picture they took of him at the shelter where he looks like Simba getting his mane mussed up finally broke my six-month insistence that I did not need and could not get another dog right now. I had too much going on. I certainly couldn’t get a puppy, which would be ten times more work than an adult.

All lies , as it turns out, I absolutely did need and could get a puppy. Look at my boy. Look how big he’s getting. I’ve been showing people pictures and videos of him like Maes Hughes showing off baby pictures. In an effort to avoid losing the post again, I will refrain from posting more pictures right the hell now, but Oh My God.

.

It’s not even a good post. It doesn’t need to be. His little face carries it. This has been terrible for my word count, but excellent for my brain. A solid decision overall, I would say.
